What's being said about Speaking in Cursive:

“The recently released album from Columbus, Ohio’s Two Cow Garageis full of some seriously bitchin’ no-nonsense rock n’ fuckin’ roll…Which begs me to ask the question, “How ridiculously awesome has this year been for Suburban Home Records?”—Can You See The Sunset

The band’s previous album, III, ended up on our list of best albums of 2007 and Speaking In Cursive is a step forward….Two Cow Garage mean business and with Speaking In Cursive, they prove that they have staying power.—Hear Ya (Indie Music. Live Sessions. Daily Downloads)

“Speaking in Cursive is…brilliant contemplative moments like the disillusioned “Not Your Friends” and the vivid character sketch “Sadie Mae.”—esdmusic.com

"John-Cougar-Mellencamp-fronting-Nirvana."—MSNBC

“What is it about this band from Columbus, Ohio, that causes such anticipation for a new album? It's lots of things…This is still a band that very much wears its heart on its sleeve. The members pour themselves into each song and record with the same energy they display on stage. So take note, all you bands manufactured simply on how you look (you know who you are). Listen to Two Cow Garage and you will realize what music sounds like when the artists actually feel what they sing and play. This is another excellent album from a great band. A new Two Cow Garage album will always be welcome in my collection”.—antiMusic.com

“The Two Cow live experience - all the blood, sweat and tears - is better than 99.9% of the other bands out there trying to make it by relentless touring.”—DoneWaiting.com

“The fourth album by Columbus, Ohio's most raucous and underappreciated alt-country-associated rockers tones down the volume, but sacrifices little in terms of impact. Sure, the production could've been a lot louder; the punk- and drunk-ass end of the fan spectrum certainly expected it. But with some of Two Cow's best songs to date - particularly the marvelous three-fer of "Brass Ring," "Folksinger's Heart" and "Bastards and Bridesmaids" - and a spotlight trained on the group's formerly overlooked penchant for details and dynamics (here expanded on expertly by new full-time keyboardist Andy Schell), Speaking in Cursive succeeds as more than a hammered 'n' heartbroken good time. It signals a bid for serious consideration for inclusion in the canon of revered, rocking contemporary singer-songwriter groups like Will Johnson's Cento-Matic and Ryan Adams' Cardinals, and, more often than not, it delivers the goods”. -Colin Kincaid/Reax.com

“Two Cow Garage get better with every release and album number four Speaking In Cursive continues the trend. The band is progressing in all categories with better songwriting, a stronger musical cohesion, and a more than confident lead singer in Micah Schnabel. Speaking In Cursive has a perfect balance of all out rockers like "Brass Ring" to solid low key grinders in "Sadie Mae", which gives the band a depth that has been touched upon in previous records but not fully realized until now”.—The FireNote.com

“Just as Two Cow is expanding their fan base, Speaking in Cursive finds them expanding their sound. The record has as many balls-out barnburners as ever, and Schnabel continues to deliver angsty anecdotes in a heartfelt rasp that sounds more "badass loner" than "sensitive singer-songwriter." But if there was a playbook for how to write Two Cow Garage songs, they've thrown it out the window.”—Columbus Alive

“A lot of good albums were released this year and I had the pleasure of listening to a good number of them. Of course, I couldn't possibly include all the great albums I heard over the course of 2008. So, I have pared my list down to a manageable number. Without further ado, here are my five favorite albums of 2008. 1. Two Cow Garage Speaking in Cursive - This band from Columbus, Ohio, just keeps ketting better. Micah Schnabel and Shane Sweeney write honest songs about relationships, life on the road, friends, etc. Every song on the album is good, with my favorite being "Bastards and Bridesmaids." It's the sort of song that when you play it in your car, you want to open the windows, and pump your fist as you sing along. I like this album a little more every time I listen to it.”—Orange County Music Examiner “It’s hard for a band that you already adore to continually meet your ever-expanding expectations, but Two Cow has managed to do it time and time again. The very fact that this album isn’t #1 on my list is a testament to how good this year’s releases were.”—NineBullets.org

We’ll be touring heavily for the next year  so check back often for an up-to-date tour schedule.

This is our new website.  Many thanks to Amanda for being so patient in lending her talent to our cause.

We’re tentatively scheduled to head back to Europe in the very early part of 2009.  Details coming soon.  Upon returning from Europe we expect to head to the West Coast via the upper Midwest, and then return home via the lower Midwest and thru the Southeast.  At least that’s the plan for the next several months.  We plan to head back in to the studio sometime next summer.   And for the third or fourth year in a row, we’d like to put out a live album….maybe we’ll actually get it done this time.

That’s all for now.

See you soon.
